The GameLab as infrastructure

As part of the Core Facility grants, the GameLab provides researchers with basic hardware and software. This includes a research workstation for the reception of computer games, a flexible camera system, virtual reality systems, a mobile camera system and other technical devices that support a research project.

The main focus is on a low-threshold usability of the devices and the easy access to the infrastructure and the research object of the computer game. The use of our devices is of course also available for research projects without reference to computer games or game-like interactions. Just contact us to find out if we can support you in your research.

All researchers at the University of Konstanz are invited to use the GameLab infrastructure.

From the efforts and cooperations prior to the Core Facility funding, console workstations in the MediaLab, as well as a Mobile Classroom in the Orangerie (BG335) are available for use in the context of seminars, module or final theses. Thus, teachers as well as students are cordially invited to contact us.
